Import a MIDI or KAR file.

Add an existing MIDI or KAR arrangement to Lyra’s local library and prepare it for playback.

Updated January 18, 2026By SongHub Space

Lyra can open an existing .mid or .kar file from the Library screen. Imported files remain local and are registered as library assets.

Import steps

  1. Open Library and choose the import action.
  2. Select a .mid or .kar file from the system picker.
  3. Confirm the title and destination folder when Lyra shows the review surface.
  4. Open the saved item to inspect its tracks and lyric timing.

Lyra uses a saved sampled render for offline playback when one is available. Importing a file does not silently create a new soundfont or upload the file.

If playback needs a render

Some files need a sampled render before they can play offline. Set a compatible processing service in Settings, then retry the render. The service receives the imported MIDI through the queued render flow and returns a checksum-verified artifact.
